Equipment

  • Instant Pot or any Pressure Cooker
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 Chicken (cleaned)
  • 1 bottle Soy sauce chicken marinate
  • 1 inch Ginger (sliced)
  • 5 cloves Garlic (crushed or minced)
  • 3-4 small Rock sugar Optional

Instructions

  • Clean chicken if desired, then put it into the instant pot
  • Dilute sauce based on the sauce-to-water ratio per package instructions, and pour the sauce into the pot. Be sure liquid covers at least 90% of the chicken.
  • Add other ingredients like ginger, garlic, and/or rock sugar.
  • Close the lid and set the pressure nob to the sealing position.
  • Cook on high pressure for 0 (zero) minutes.
  • Natural release based on time below, then quick release any pressure remains
  • Take chicken out (very carefully) and let it cool for at least 10 minutes.

Natural Release Time (based on the weight of the chicken)

  • 3 lbs - 18 minutes
  • 4 lbs - 20 minutes
  • 5+ lbs - 22 minutes
